-Graduated from New York University’s College of Arts and Sciences. Earned a Bachelor of Arts. Attended from fall 1999 through spring 2003. Majored in Biology and minored in Earth and Environmental Science.
Work Experience:
-Owner/Operator of Living Art Aquariums, a small business specializing in all aspects of creating and managing ornamental home aquariums, including a coral farm to grow livestock. Currently managing 31 accounts, including the Westhampton Beach High School Marine lab. Founded in 2008.
-Assistant Program Manager of National Marine Fisheries Service At Sea Monitor/Industry Funded Scallop Observer Program for East West Technical Services. March 2011-October 2015. Managed personnel logistics for staff of over 30 individuals being deployed from Maine to Virginia.
-Commercial Fisheries Observer for the National Marine Fisheries Service’s (NMFS) Northeast Fisheries Observer Program (NEFOP). Certified in 2003. Observed Inshore and offshore Bottom-Otter Trawl, Longline, Sea Scallop Dredge and Gillnet trips that lasted from 1 to 15 days. Contracted through A.I.S. Observers from December 2003 to March 2006. Contracted through East West Technical Services from fall 2006 to 2011.
-Field Technician for Cornell Cooperative Marine Program. Worked seasonally from 2001 through 2008. Assisted in Restoration efforts of Marine Eelgrass in the Peconic estuary.
-Commercial Shellfish Harvester. Primarily harvesting Bay Scallops and hard clams Since 2006.
-East End Little League Coaching Staff. Assistant Coach for East End Little League Hurricane Majors Softball. Spring 2022, Fall 2022, Spring 2023.
